Trombone
Tom Jarvis - Bass Trombone, of
Brookline, NH, has played the trombone since the 4th
grade. He played with the Syracuse University Marching Band and Sour Citrus
Society basketball pep band. After graduation, he played with various community
bands and orchestras in the upstate New
York area. When he relocated to NH in 1986, he
joined, and is still active with the Hollis Town Band. He also has performed in
the pit orchestra for various Nashua Actorsingers
productions. Mr. Jarvis is a Quality Assurance Engineer for Raytheon as
well as a call firefighter for the Town of Brookline.
CJ Bourn - 2nd Trombone, of Wilton, NH, started playing trombone in High
School at North Middlesex Regional in Townsend, MA. He was the lead trombone and President of the
Saint Anselm Jazz Ensemble for his four years of college and was singer /
trombonist for the local rock group “Walrus for 10 years. He has 4 budding brass players at home in Wilton and enjoys playing
locally in the Amherst Town Band as well.
He is a Senior Software Engineer for Reveal Imaging Technologies, Inc.
in Bedford, MA.
John Gunther - 3rd Trombone, of Northfield, NH has played trombone since the 4th
grade. While attending Manchester
West High
School he rehearsed with and played summer
concerts with the 39th Army Band of the NH National Guard. Upon
graduation from West he officially joined the 39th and was a member
of the band for over eight years. He has played with various bands and
orchestras including the NH Philharmonic Orchestra, The Nevers
7th Regiment Band, and the John Galdyz
Band. He also has played with other local bands including the Mark V, The
Rhythm Kings, Dr. Robert Provencher’s Heartbeats
Orchestra, and the George Ine Big Band. After a 15
year absence from music he began playing again with the Alumni Band of the NH
National Guard and he is also a member of the Freese
Brothers Big Band. Mr. Gunther is Vice President of Risk management at
Bellwether Community Credit Union in Manchester,
NH.
Bob Weller – Lead Trombone, of Merrimack, NH, was the bass
trombonist for the Augusta Georgia Concert Band and the Aiken Community Band in
South Carolina. He founded the Augusta Trombone Master Class which is a jazz
and swing ensemble. He plays bass trombone with the Hollis Town Band and the
Chelmsford Community Concert and Jazz Ensemble. Locally, Bob plays with
the Hollis Town Band, the Actorsingers and various
other orchestras and jazz ensembles. Mr. Weller is a chemist and is
the FTMS Production and Engineering Manager for Bruker
Daltonics, Billerica,
MA.
