CJ Bourn - President and Lead Trombone
CJ, a resident of Wilton, NH, started playing trombone in high school at North Middlesex Regional in Townsend, MA. He was the lead trombone and President of the Saint Anselm Jazz Ensemble for his four years of college and was also singer / trombonist for the local rock group “Walrus” for 10 years. More recently, he was a member of the Amherst Town Band for nearly 10 years and also served as its President for two different terms. CJ also enjoys playing as a regular substitute with the Compaq Big Band. He has 4 budding brass players at home in Wilton and works as a Software Manager for Reveal Imaging Technologies, Inc. in Bedford, MA
Bob Weller - 2nd Trombone
Bob, a resident of Merrimack, NH, has may years of experience playing trombone in a variety of settings. When he’s not playing with the Bedford Big Band, he also plays bass trombone for the Chelmsford Community Band and the Chelmsford Community Band Jazz Ensemble. He has also played for the Hollis Town Band, Actorsingers, and filled in with many local orchestras, community bands and jazz / swing ensembles. Before moving to NH in 1996, Bob was the bass trombonist for the Augusta Georgia Concert Band and the Aiken (SC) Community Band. Bob was also the founder of the Augusta Trombone Master Class, a trombone jazz and swing ensemble. Dr. Weller is a chemist and is the FTMS Magnet Manager and FTMS Senior System Engineer for Bruker Daltonics in Billerica, MA.
John Gunther - 3rd Trombone
John, of Northfield, NH has played trombone since the 4th grade. While attending Manchester West High School he rehearsed with and played summer concerts with the 39th Army Band of the NH National Guard. Upon graduation from West he officially joined the 39th and was a member of the band for over eight years. He has played with various bands and orchestras including the NH Philharmonic Orchestra, The Nevers 7th Regiment Band, and the John Galdyz Band. He also has played with other local bands including the Mark V, The Rhythm Kings, Dr. Robert Provencher’s Heartbeats Orchestra, and the George Ine Big Band. After a 15 year absence from music he began playing again with the Alumni Band of the NH National Guard and he is also a member of the Freese Brothers Big Band. John is Vice President of Risk management at Bellwether Community Credit Union in Manchester, NH.
Tom Jarvis - Bass Trombone
Tom, of Brookline, NH, has played the trombone since the 4th grade. He played with the Syracuse University Marching Band and Sour Citrus Society basketball pep band. After graduation, he played with various community bands and orchestras in the upstate New York area. When he relocated to NH in 1986, he joined, and is still active with the Hollis Town Band. He also has performed in the pit orchestra for various Nashua Actorsingers productions. Tom is a Systems Engineer for Raytheon as well as a call firefighter for the Town of Brookline.
